Work on developing the catchment management plans for two of our priority catchments, Haytons Stream and Addington Brook, is nearing completion. In the Biodiversity portfolio the restoration of the Port Hills following the large fire last year has been a priority. WebThe water quality of Haytons Stream contributes significantly to contamination of the Heathcote River, even following treatment in the Wigram Retention Basin (WRB). Contaminants that were found in higher concentrations in the Heathcote River below the Haytons Stream inflow included ammonia, zinc and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD).
